Create Texture Using a Background Cover Die

Come see how to create texture for your cards using a background cover die.

I love to add texture to my cards using a pretty patterned background.  The Crosshatch Cover by Brass and Bliss with its delicate pattern adds dimension but allows the floral arrangement to be the main focus.  I used the  Whisper Blossoms, Branches and Leaves and Seaweed and Coral to finish the card.

Create texture for you card using a cover die.

Card Base

  • Use colored cardstock to cut an A2 sized card base.
  • Cut the cover using white cardstock.
  • Apply glue all around the frame background with tiny touches to a few key spots of the pattern and attach it to the card base.

Flowers

  • Cut three flower sections for each flower using white cardstock.
  • Apply touches of yellow to the flower centers.
  • Place the flower sections face down on a molding pad and roll over each petal with a large round stylus.
  • Turn the flowers face up on the pad and push down in the centers with a small round stylus.
  • Attach the flower sections together using glue and attach the round center pieces using s small pop dot.
  • Apply glue to the back of the three flowers and attach them in place on the card base.

Foliage

  • Use green cardstock to cut several section of the foliage branches.
  • Tuck the large branch sections under the flowers and attach them using glue.
  • Tuck a few the delicate foliage sections under the flowers to finish the arrangement.
