Come see how to make a handmade tropical bird card with bright pink flowers and lush green leaves.
This bright and colorful handmade card features a striking tropical scene with a black-and-white toucan nestled among green leaves and bright pink flowers. I layered die cuts in bold yellow, pink, and green to create interest and dimension, framed by a scalloped pink border on a sunny yellow card base. I used the Brass and Bliss Tropical Birds and Leaves, Build a Bloom Clematis, Inside Scallop Frame and Nested Scallop Oval for this project.
Here’s a quick step-by-step outline for making this tropical bird card:
- Card Base – Cut and fold a bright yellow card base.
- Die-cut a pink scalloped frame and adhere it to the card front using mounting tape.
- Layer a white scalloped oval inside the frame for the focal background.
- Cut the toucan, tropical leaves, and flowers from colored cardstock.
- Layer and glue the black, white, and yellow pieces to form the bird and attach to the base..
- Tuck the leaves and flowers around the toucan, using foam tape for dimension.
- Add small pink flowers and yellow centers for extra pops of color.
