Come see how a decorative layered background creates interest and dimension for a pretty floral arrangement.
Today I’m sharing how a decorative die cut background creates dimension and interest to highlight this pretty floral bouquet. I used the Rectangle Combo #5 OPC to create the layers and Elegant Bows, Build a Bloom Bell Flowers, Eucalyptus Branch, Wild Leaves for the bouquet and the Happy Birthday and Happy Birthday Coordinating Die for the sentiment.
Card Base and Layered Background
- Use white cardstock to cut an A2 sized card base and the Rectangle Combo OPC.
- Turn the white frame sections face down on the table and apply double stick tape to attach the sections together.
- Apply 1/8″ double tick tape to the back of the yellow frame section and attach it directly over the white frame.Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the frames and attach it to the card base.
Flowers and Foliage Bouquet
- Cut the flowers using blue cardstock and the stems using green cardstock.
- Attach the flowers to the stems using glossy accents.
- Use green cardstock to cut the branches and leaves.
- Assemble the flower stems and begin attaching them together using glossy accents to create the bouquet.
- Create the foliage background by attaching the branches and leaves together to create the base for the bouquet.
- Attach the flowers to the foliage using glossy accents.
- Apply a generous amount of glossy accents to the back of the bouquet and attach it to the layered background.
The Bow and Sentiment
- Cut the bow sections using the same blue cardstock and attach the sections together at the centers using glossy accents.
- Slip a tiny piece of mounting tape or tiny pop dot under the outer edges of the front bow section so it will stand slightly away from the back bow.
- Apply a section of mounting tape to the back of the bow and attach it to the stems of the bouquet.
- Stamp the sentiment sections and die cut them using the coordinating dies.
- Attach them to the card base using pieces of mounting tape.
