Easter Bunny Scene

Today I’m sharing an Easter bunny scene card with pretty flowers, a bright blue sky filled with clouds and a bright yellow sun.  I cannot express how much my mood improves when I make something so bright and cute.  For this project I used the Rubbernecker Nested Scallop with Holes, Bunnies, Grass, Garden Stems, Small Flowers #1, Small Flowers #3, Cloud Tree, Small Ivy and Tiny Flower Buds (bunny neck).

I love making Easter bunny scene cards with lots of flowrs this time of year. Click on the photo to come over and see more details.

The Scalloped Sky Layer

  • Cut the scalloped layer using white cardstock.
  • Mask off the edges of the scalloped layer using masking tape.
  • Fill in the open area of the scalloped layer using blue ink and a large blender brush.
  • Use a cloud template and blender brush to apply light clouds to the blue background.

The Scalloped Edge Grass Layers

  • Cut two green scalloped layers about 1.50″ wide using the long side of the scalloped die.
  • Place each green scalloped layer on the cutting platform, line up the grass die and run through the machine.  Note:   I made one grass layer a little bit taller than the front layer.
  • Apply a strip of mounting tape to the front grass layer and attach it to the second layer.
  • Line up the grass layers on the scalloped layer and attach using double stick tape.

The Flower Stems

  • Cut two full sets of the garden stems using green cardstock.
  • Use pink, purple and yellow cardstock to cut the small flowers.
  • Place the flower son the molding pad and push down in the center of each using a small tipped stylus.  Note:  I have three molding pads layered together so I can push down deep to get a good form on the flowers.
  • Attach the flowers to the garden stems using glossy accents.
  • Tuck the flower stems in behind the grass layers and attach using glossy accents.

The Bunny

  • Cut the bunny using cream cardstock.
  • Apply a light shade of brown ink to the body using a mini applicator.
  • Attach two ivy leaves and tiny flower buds to the bunny neck using glossy accents.

Finish the Easter Bunny Scene

  • Apply strips of mounting tape to th back of the scalloped scene layer and attach it to the white card base.
  • Cut the clouds using white cardstock and the sun using yellow cardstock.
  • Use pieces of mounting tape to attach the clouds and sun to the sky.
  • Finish the scene by attaching the bunny to the grass in a spot that allows him to be looking up at the sun.

  • Cut the grass border and small grass sprigs using green cardstock.
  • Attach the grass border to the back of the frame using double stick tape.
  • Attach the grass sprigs to the back of the grass border using glossy accents.
  • Apply mounting tape to the back of the frame and attach it to the card base.

Color the Bunnies

  • Cut the bunnies using white cardstock.
  • Apply a light layer of Antique Linen ink to the bunny using a mini applicator.
  • Apply darker shading to the bunny using Vintage Photo ink and a mini applicator.

The Tulips

  • Cut the tulip tops using pink, yellow and purple cardstock.
  • Use mini applicators to apply Worn Lipstick ink to the pink tulips, Wild Honey ink to the yellow tulips and Shaded Lilac to the purple tulip tops.
  • Gently form the tulip tops using the large round stylus and molding pad.
  • Cut the tulip stems using green cardstock.
  • Apply glossy accents to the tulip stems and attach the tulip heads.
  • Tuck the tulips in behind the grass layers and attach using glossy accents.

Come see how I made this sweet die cut spring bunny scene card.

The Bunny and Tulip Bouquet

  • Cut the bunny using white cardstock.
  • Apply a light layer of Antique Linen ink to the whole bunny body using a mini applicator.
  • Apply a darker shade of Antique Linen and Vintage Photo ink to the ears and back portion of the bunny using a mini applicator.
  • Add a touch of Worn Lipstick to the cheek of the bunny using a mini applicator.
  • Attach three tulips together using glossy accents to form the bouquet and attach it to the back paw portion of the bunny using glossy accents.
  • Apply a piece of mounting tape to the back of the bunny, tuck him in behind the tulips and attach to the card base.
  • Tie a tiny pink bow and attach to the bunny paw using glue dots.
  • Finish the scene by attaching two flying birds using tiny pieces of mounting tape.
  • Check out my Coloring Animal Tutorial if you would like to see step by step pics of how I colored the bunny.
