Kick Stand Cards

Today the Sketch Challenge on Splitcoaststampers was to create a Side Kick card. I had fun using my Rubbernecker On the Farm set again tonight only I decided the rooster was perfect for the front layer image and I loved the chicken wire background stamp with this set. I stamped the image with Brilliance Black graphite on watercolor paper and a second time on scrap paper so I could cut out and pop up the scarf and head of the rooster. I sketched the little fence sections around the rooster with a waterproof artist pen and then watercolored with Adirondack Dye Ink and reinkers. I I really enjoy creating farm scenes around animals and chickens.

  1. What a cute rooster! I love the expression on his face.–do roosters have faces? Hmmm. Anyway, the wire mesh background is sooo great. I think I neeeeeed that stamp! Great colors, great card! TFS

  3. This is gorgeous! I have always loved your coloring and sketching. You have actually inspired me to do more freehand. I used to sketch a lot but have gotten out of practice. now I have started pulling out my old stuff to start up again. Thanks for the inspiration. Oh ya, I use SU ink for watercolor as well as a few Holbein and cotman watercolor paints. Basically whatever I had left over from my painting days. I love the look of Adirondacks, but at the moment there is so much I want that I have to prioratize :). Thanks for mentioning the link on Splitcoast, sadly I don’t know how to fix it *dang* I’m computer iliterate.
