Bunny Eggs and Basket

I’ve had a restful weekend trying to catch up from my trip California.  I had the special treat Saturday of spending several hours with my little sister, Jeannie who has been in Orlando on business. Today I have had fun surfing through Betty’s (gbedwright) who is the inspiration artist for the Featured Stamper challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  Betty does absolutely gorgeous work and it was hard to pick my favorite. I finally chose an adorable get well card with a sad little sick pig in bed with his temperature being taken. I loved the layout. I used a darling image from Rubbernecker’s Easter Collection and decided to pull out my Copic markers for coloring.  I used an artist pen to sketch in grass and some hidden eggs, painted all the images with markers and then sponged on Scattered Straw Distress ink with Cut & Dry foam for the sky area.  I used my fern stamp with Peeled Paint Distress ink to add texture to the ground area. I chose my colors from the cute designer paper that I wanted to use for this card.  The white polka dot grosgrain seemed like the perfect little embellishment to go with the white scalloped layer. Little by little I am getting more comfortable using my Copic markers….but I still love my paint brush. I’m adding a photo below of all the tools, etc that I used to make my card.  Please leave a comment and let me know if you find this helpful so I will know whether I need to continue taking the photos.  Thanks for your help.

  4. This bunny is adorable! I love when the artist adds a pic of the supplies…nice touch. I’m afraid I am too lazy, or really, too messy to compile them all so neatly for a pic! Thanks for doing it!

  7. You make such beautiful cards. I’m new to stamping and haven’t tried much “painting” with markers yet. What do you use the Cut N Dry Foam for? Your cards are true works of Art!! Thanks for sharing

  8. Hey Kittie,
Its good to have you back! I like the photo of the supplies used. I think it will help out alot when looking for what to purchase. With so many brands styles and types its hard to know what will give the best results. Also I always wondered what you used to get the scallop layer.
THanks for all that you do! You make card making so much fun!
