The challenge on Splitcoaststampers today was to make an Envelope Pouch. What a fun little idea to make a pouch to put candy, pencils, crayons or anything else you can think of in. You can find the directions for the pouch at this link on post number 1. I punched out the envelope with my tag punch, which I just now remembered that I didn’t get into the picture below of supplies used for this project. I decided to watercolor a little bunny and carrot garden scene on the front of the envelope. I stamped the images with grey Stazon and used a grey artist pen to sketch out the little fence behind the garden. I thought it would add some fun interest to the scene. When watercoloring on paper other than watercolor paper it is hard to build up color. The envelope is thinner than cardstock so I had to be very careful not to try and get my brush and reinker too wet. I was going to use Copic markers but decided the ink would go through to the back side of the envelope. I did continue the scene in a much more simple manner on the back of the envelope to keep interest going all the way around. The front side is much more detailed. I overlapped the carrots several times to make a full garden for the bunny to sit in. I only used the carrot image with the little bunny head on the back of the pouch and the tag. He is so cute. I sketched in a few little added grass sprigs around the garden and then used a green marker to color. After painting the bunny with Latte Adirondack reinker I used a Salmon Pink Copic marker to add color to the ears and checks. I wanted the pink to be more on the orange side. I added texture to the grass, fence line and all around the handle border with my mini fern stamp using both green and Peach Bellini Adirondack ink. I sponged the sky in Aqua Adirondack using a Cut & Dry foam piece. I created a little tag from the piece cut out of the envelope and made it so it opens with the little bunny hiding inside and attached the tag with grosgrain.

This is the most adorable of all of the ones I’ve seen using this technique. Gosh, this is so sweet. Thanks for the visual on the supplies.
just wonderful kittie! makes me long for speing.
This little bunny is so adorable–colored to perfection. I like how you used the fern stamp going up the sides and top. It looks like a creeping vine. Very sweet!
One question, what is the cut and dry foam? Is it like a sponge?
What a cutie! Great artwork! The envelope pouch is a great idea…I’ll have to check it out!
Awwww!! This is so adorable Kittie! Another amazing scene!
