Limited Supply Challenge-Tool Free

The Limited Supply Challenge on SCS today is to keep our projects simple and to not use any of our fancy tools like Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, Embossing, etc.  I decided to take it a step further and to create a single layer card using Fabriano cardstock and one of my all time favorite images from Stampin’ Up-Long-Time Friend. I masked off my image area with Post-It’s to create a faux frame around my card front. I stamped the image with Brilliance Black.  I watercolored the image with a brush and several Distress and Adirondack Dye reinkers and then stippled around the ground area with a large round dry brush brushing directly on the ink pad and then the cardstock.  I used my fern stamp to create a little garden greenery in the background and Itty Bitty Background stamp for texture on the ground.  I sponged the sky in and was finished and removed my frame.  I love the appearance of the crisp, white border around the complete scene.

  1. Great card Kittie. The texture of the cardstock (I think it’s textured) really comes through. The colors are so beautiful. TFS

  3. That is my all time favorite type of card! Sometimes these days all of the stripes and polka dots and bright colors that are on so many cards and things, do not appeal to me or are overwhelming. This is a true beauty of a card to me. Lovely! Donna B
