I don’t know about you but Stampin’ Up!’s Glorious Green is anything but glorious to me. When I saw the color challenge today on SCS I moaned to myself when I saw the color combination. I love red and navy together but that strange green is more than I can take. But…isn’t that what challenges are all about? I came home and unwrapped my brand new Whipper Snapper images that I got for FREE!!! I sent six cards into Whipper Snapper for the Spring card contest and didn’t win a placing prize but WS gave me store credit of $10 each to keep my cards. Hey….I’ll take free stamps any day. I love Anna Wight’s darling images and I spent all of my credit on them. I doubt Anna ever thought she would see her darling rooster painted red and navy but…it was a challenge after all. A girl has got to do what she has to do.
I stamped the image on watercolor paper with Brilliance black and heat set. I colored the rooster with SU red and navy markers. I sponged in caramel for the dirt area and then used my mini fern stamp to lay down the textured weeds growing in the background. I used an artist pen to sketch in the fun little wire fence and used a sponge and bashful blue to create the sky with a cloud template. The rest is self explanatory. Fun challenge even though we did have to use that terrible green.

Oh I love what you did with this – very “homespun” looking. I’m not a fan of Glorious Green either – so many other wonderful greens to be had. Have you mentioned, yet, where you get your watercolor paper and what kind you like best?
Kittie, you’re always amazing… =)
Cute, cute, cute! Love that rooster and your coloring. tfs
Just love the cute little scenes you come up with to go with your stamps, too cute!
I love the polka-dots and gingham, it reminds me of my great grandma’s kitchen. She was the best.
Where is mine?
This is so cute and love the colors. You give each of your cards such personality, so creative.
