Stacy the Cowgirl Blessing Angel

I made this card for the Limited Supply Challenge today on SCS.  Here are the challenge rules.

The List
1. Make a square card. (Any size)
2. Use only scrap pieces of paper. (The base card doesn’t have to be a scrap.)
3. Use ribbon or fiber scraps.
4. Use only ONE other embellishment.
5. Use any colors, stamps, and tools.

I have so many scraps of paper, cardstock, watercolor paper, and ribbon that I found this challenge easy to accomplish.  I had this black frame cut out with a Nestabilities and that had the scalloped layer used on another project.  I always keeps these negative pieces for just when I might need one.  Today was the time.  I had several scrap pieces of of the western designer paper and black and white gingham ribbon.  I decided this was the perfect opportunity to use Stacy, a western angel from the KK Originals Cowboy collection found on Rubbernecker Stamp Company.

I stamped Stacy with black craft ink on scrap paper, embossed with clear embossing powder, painted  and cut out.  I used another small piece of watercolor paper to stamp Stacy a second time as the base for my popped up angel. I stamped the horses with craft brown and black craft ink and embossed with clear embossing to match the lines of the angel. I used a black glaze pen to draw in the fence and barbed wire over the horses.  I sponged Distress Vintage Photo over the ground area and a lighter layer for the sky. I used the sand image from the Rubbernecker Beach collection to create texture for the ground by stamping with more of the Vintage Photo. I used the branding iron background image from the Rubbernecker Cowboy collection with black craft ink to add the image to the black frame and the designer paper and embossed again with clear powder. I sponged Vintage Photo ink all over the designer paper to create a more rich look and then distressed both the designer paper and frame with a distressing tool. I pulled the black and white gingham across the Vintage Photo ink to make it match the dark colors of the project and attached it to a piece of spiral hardware. This was a fun project.
