Splitcoaststampers is holding it’s Dare To Get Dirty Challenge event this week. What fun it is. All of the fan club members are invited to play in a whole week of fun challenges hosted by the Dirty Dozen/Dirty Dozen Alumni members. Each hostess is presenting a challenge that represents her unique style of stamping, embellishing, etc. I am hosting my challenge tomorrow (Saturday) so please come and play along. Can you imagine what my challenge may be.
I played in both Sharon’s-Stamp Simply challenge and Holly’s-Sketch challenge yesterday and combined both the technique and sketch into one project. Stamp Simply is not the easiest thing for me to do. Sharon (aka notimetostamp) is known on SCS for creating purely elegant and simple projects without going over the top or over doing. Her work is crisp with gorgeous images and her added embellishments are always the perfect touch. I, on the other hand am always looking for ways to add something to the image to create a complete scene of some kind. Holly (aka Toy) is known on SCS for fabulous sketches and creating wonderfully creative cards with layers and layer and layers. Each of her projects are a true representation of her wonderful style. I, on the other hand (again) don’t do too well with sketches that have lots of little layers or sections as I am always looking for full card fronts so I can have as much room as possible to create a scene. It was totally a blast for me to move out of my scene box and combine these challenges to create my project.
I had promised Sharon that she would not see one blade of grass, fence or tree in my project and that I would do my best to honor the simplicity of the image. I did have to to add a few brush strokes of green sprigs to the topiary but that was it. I loved working with the oval frame found in Holly’s sketch and I think it created the most lovely layer to work with this adorable image.
Please be sure and come over to SCS and check out the Dare To Get Dirty Challenges and possibly becoming a Fan Club member.

Beautiful Kittie. I think I know what your challenge will be tommorrow, and my kits and WC Mini’s are sitting on my desk for it too. ๐ I’m working during the day, but I’ll catch up when I get home.
Kittie, I love your card! It is so pretty & I love the colors you used.

Kittie, your card is so lovely! I love the bright colors and how you used the watering can! Wish I was going to be in town to play your challenge tomorrow, but I’ll be moving my Mom. Not fun. Have a great weekend with Bob and please tell him I said hi!
