I haven't been able to do my blog post regularly and need to catch up on posting the projects I have done over the last several days. I created this witchy Halloween card with Witch on Broom found in the Rubbernecker Halloween collection. I thought she looked perfect flying over the spooky tree tops. I actually made this card for a special challenge on SCS to use numbers on a card and then realized that the challenge was to make a birthday card. Duh! Well, October 31 is someone's birthday but needless to say I didn't think my card would qualify for the challenge. All images are stamped with black craft ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. The witch and moon were colored with reinkers. I used diamond glaze and iridescent ice to add sparkle to the moon.
I am switching gears here and changing from a spooky Halloween witch to a darling Little Lovin's Waving Witch found in the Rubbernecker Stamp Oasis Halloween Collection. Te main image was stamped several times, once on designer paper so I could use the paper piecing technique to layer and add dimension to the images. I created a moon in the background with a circle punch mask and by sponging on color. I created a fun background on the main card layer by using a black glaze and white gel pen. The pumpkin, witch head and kitten are all popped up on dimensionals.
I had lots of fun creating this darling winter scene with Rubbernecker KK Originals Moose and Tree images and the falling snow can be found in Rubbernecker Winter Holiday collection. I stamped the trees on the framed layer and then cut around them with a coluzzle to create the opening. I stamped the images on the inside layer to create a total scene combining the two layers. All images were painted with a brush and reinkers. I popped up the "girl" moose and the moose guy sticking his head out of the trees. I sponged on the whole sky area with blue and then used white craft ink to create the falling snow and embossed with white embossing powder. I used a small brush and painted white craft ink on the tips of the trees and embossed them as well.
This card was created using a technique new to me but I love how it turned out. It is faux dry embossing. I chose to use an evergreen tree found in Rubbernecker Stamp Oasis Winter Holiday Collection Tree Set. I stamped the tree images three times with white craft ink and heat dried with my gun. I then used my stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the trees just a tiny bit off to the right and stamped with olive ink to create a shadow and make the trees appear to be 3D. I used the sand dune image from my Kittie Kits Beach Master to create the falling snow in the background. By the way this exact tree has been resized in my Kittie Kits The Moose is Loose set and you will find three smaller sizes to work with. If used all together you can create a wonderful forest of trees. I love the peaceful snow falling scene and thought this sentiment from the Stamp Oasis Petite Word Set fit perfectly.
The Limited Supply Challenge last week was to play with a set that you have not used in a while and one that you will probably always have to keep in your collection. I love the SU set Give Thanks and thought it would be fun to create a layered dimensional card popping up apples, sunflowers and pumpkins. All images were colored with reinkers and a brush. I love the gorgeous colors together.
