Treasure Hunt Tuesday, Holiday Fun and Blog Candy Sentiment Contest

It’s Tuesday and that means there's a Treasure Hunt.  It’s Treasure Hunt Tuesday at Rubbernecker! To find the first clue on the treasure map (and all the other details), you must travel to the Rubbernecker Home Page and from there follow the clue! While you are on the home page you will want to check out the special product sale for the Mini Scor-it and Colorbox Fluid Chalk Pads. Then you can journey on by to   Candy , Linda , Jules Bev, Tami and Shelly for a visit and see what they’ve been up to. You never knows what prizes or treasure you will find along the way!

Sherry has some extra for you today.  Go to Sherry's and you will have a chance to win some Rubbernecker Bucks.

I love three day holiday weekends. Sadly, my husband had to work all three days so I had lots of time to myself. Nothing gives me greater pleasure than having three days off in a row that I can sleep in and not have to make the 35 mile drive to work. Truthfully, my dream of sleeping in on my days off is a joke.  My old body clock does not distinguish between work days and days off and consistently wakes me up at 5:00. My work schedule has become a bit more stressful and I don't seem to have as much time or energy to stamp during the week so I make up for it on the weekends.  I am uploading the fun projects that I played with and I hope you enjoy.  There is a sentiment blog candy contest listed with second card upload so be sure and check it out.

KC Forest Set 2

This project was made for the Monday Technique Lover's Challenge using the technique called "Black Magic". I used white craft ink to stamp the tree images on black cardstock, heat dried and then colored with a green colored pencil and blending with baby oil. An Inkksentials white gel pen was used to reline the tree images to make them pop, to create the falling snow and white craft ink and embossing powder was used to create the snow. All images are Rubbenecker.

KC Zoofari 5

Can you think of a sentiment for this Twisted Humor card? There is blog candy in it for you!

Sherry Cheever at "Walkin on the Bad Side!"is hosting a new Twisted Humor weekly challenge.  I don't exactly have talent for coming up with fun, twisted and humorous ideas. Sherry's challenge was to use a sock monkey or a monkey and sock image together on a project. I don't have a sock monkey or a sock so I used my monkey from Zoofari, sketched on four socks and thought he would fit the challenge requirement.  I thought it would be fun to do a spoof on my love of winter snow scenes and have this guy swinging from one snowy evergreen filled with banana's to another.  I sketched out all the banana bunches and cut them out to pop on the trees. When I was through I could not come up with a funny sentiment. My challenge to you is to place a comment on this post with sentiment ideas. I will be giving away a brand new,  unmounted SU set called Baby Jesus is Born. This crazy card will be part of your blog candy as well.

KC And Everything Nice 19

This last project was done for the Limited Supply Challenge to use "Something Borrowed, Something Blue, Something Old, Something New". I used a borrowed sketch idea and color combination, SU Not Quite Navy for the blue, an old unused SU set for the old, and a new border punch for the new.  This was lots of fun.

  1. These are all over the top fabulous Kittie. I love the bow treatment on the 1st one, the bananas on the 2nd, the frame & colors on the 3rd and the house shaped card on the 4th. The Riley in the apple grove is a wonderful scene and the LSC card is just precious. Good work, you have been busy!

  4. My, what a busy weekend you had. I so love your Christmas cards and that monkey one is too cute and fits Sherry’s challenge IMO. As for a quote, well, it’s too early on the west coast for a zinger but here’s my take: “We Wish You A Monkey Christmas And A Bananaful New Year”. Corney, I know, but all I could come up with on only one cup of caffiene.

  5. So many cards and each one is perfect! The only thing I can come up with for your twisted humor card is “With socks like these covering my heels, I don’t need to worry ’bout no banana peels!” It even rhymes!

  8. These are all super duper! I wanna be you when I grow up, Kittie! Here are my attempts at silly humor:
    1. “Who says frozen bananas aren’t traditional Christmas treats?” or
    2. “Bananas need pajamas…They’re frozen to the core…” (to the cartoon jingle Bananas in Pajamas) or
    3. How about tbis one: “Little Help?” Because the little guy wants to peel and eat the bananas but he has socks on his hands and feet…Thanks for the chance! ;0)
