Linda T is the winner of my Starry Shore Night blog candy contest. Congratulations, Linda! Please send me your snail mail address so I can send you your brand new, unmounted Stampin' Up! set- Boho Backgrounds.
You put a lot of work into each card – they truly are works of art.
This one looks like a very upset sky – I'm not sure I'd want to be out on a night like that!

Sandcastle Beach Fun
The Splitcoaststampers Sunday Featured Stamper Challenge featured Judy-aka JayDeKay as our inspirational stamping artist. Judy has a gorgeous gallery and it was tough to pick just one project to focus on. I fell in love with her Cuttlebug and Scallops with its beautiful embossed nature scene and her gorgeous coloring. I loved the one layer scalloped card and wanted to recreate something similar. I did not have an embossing folder similar to the one Judy used so I opted for a one layer card using a few of my brand new Shapeabilities from Spellbinders. I own many Nestabilities sets but have never tried playing with the embossed shapes provided with Shapeabilities. What fun!
I cut my card by using the largest of the Long Rectangle Nestabilities, I scored a piece of white cardstock in half and placed on my Wizard mat and placed the die leaving the short edge at the fold off the paper, This allowed the shape to be cut except for the folded end.
I chose to work with my Kittie Kits "Cause a Scene" Beach Master to create a beach scene. I stamped the sand and fence images and sponged in the ground area to fill in the sand color. I created a mask with plain printer paper and placed across the sky line and sponged in aqua for the water below the mask line. I removed the mask and sponged in the same shade of aqua using a handmade scalloped cloud template to create the sky. I added touches of yellow for sun light. I stamped a few sea oats in green for additional scenery and color. I cut and embossed my Shapeabilities pieces and then sponged on some color while still in the die. I sponged on more color after removing the die. The sandcastle was too large for my small card so I cut off the two sides and just used the center. All pieces were popped up with rolled up glue cits. I added the ribbon to finish off the cute scene. This was a fun project and I enjoyed using my new shapes.
