The Limited Supply Challengeon Splitcoaststampers today is to use our favorite stamps and color combination. I didn't even have to give much thought to what I would use. I have always loved The Loads of Love set by Stampin' Up! and knew it was what I would definitely have to use. I laughed when I went to number this project in my Loads of Love file and numbered it 41. I have no other set in my stamping files used that many times. Well…I do have one other favorite that was used more than Loads of Love and that is my favorite Watercolor Mini fern stamp. I had to use that little stamp today as well. My favorite color combination for any season is red and olive green. I added a light blue to my project for the sky.
I stamped the car, trees and flowers with Stazon on scrap watercolor paper so I could paint and cut out. I stamped the images again on a 4" x 4" piece of watercolor to create the scene. I lightly painted in a the blue sky area and then the green ground area on the main scene, and painted all the trees and then the flowers. I painted all the images on the scrap paper and cut out. I used my mini fern stamp to add some texture to the ground area. I used a craft knife to cut out the window area of the truck and then attached a couple of the flowers to the back of the truck and then attached the truck tothe scene with mounting tape. I attached the additional flowers and trees with dimensionals. I punched the corners and attached the layers. The tag was cut with a Nestabilities tag die that matched the corners of the card.
Sadly the photos don't show much dimension the popped images add to this project.
I will save this to use for my husband's Valentine card. I have used this same set for both his birthday and Valentine for a few years now and he displays all of the cards on his desk hutch in the office.
