Wacky Wednesday #7 With Inspiration

Wacky Wednesday Button girls Juliana is hosting an inspiration challenge for this week’s Wacky Wednesday and she has given us an interesting contemporary piece of art to inspire us.

I was most inspired by the white squares and the colors blue and orchid. I found no inspiration from the X’s even though they were so prominent on the piece.

KC Wild Flower 2

I stamped the Grid background on a piece of watercolor paper using Versa and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I sponged on Sail Boat Blue which brought out the squares of the background. I went to the new Wild Flowers set and chose one of the large flower grouping images and stamped it twice on a piece of watercolor paper. I watercolored the images for my main image layer and then colored and cut out all the flowers from the second image. I attached the cut flowers to the base with glue dots creating a dimensional flower that looked more “alive”. I chose pink to layer both the blue and image layers on.  The pink gingham was a perfect garden like ribbon to use for my embellishment bow and for the sentiment tag.  The sentiment is a little hard to read in the photo and says “Welcome to my Garden”.
