Fun To Paint “Little Boys”

The SCS Color Challenge was a fun combination of colors but left little room for doing my scenery work.  Well….truthfully I didn’t have lots of time for scenery as I got home late from work but I still wanted to play to get some good stress relief.  I dug through my images to see what would work with the challenge colors of Real Red, Chocolate Chip and Kraft and found my retired Stampin’ Up! 2002 Little Boys set.  The image I chose worked perfectly to color in lots of dark brown, lighter brown and red.  I added a little gray for the white shirts and pillowcase flag, a touch of green for the grass around the wash tub and a little touch of yellow to shade around the image. All images were colored with a brush, reinkers and water. I think the brown and red frame is perfect to highlight the scene. I didn’t think these boys needed any further embellishment than a simple crimped red layer on the Kraft paper.KC Little Boys 8
