Vintage Garden Girl

I hope you all had a restful weekend. I enjoyed being home and relaxing and having time to stamp and paint. I am having lots of fun using my new Crafty Secrets sets that I purchased at the CHA Super Show. The children in the sets are so beautiful and I love creating scenes around them.

KC Garden Girls

I stamped the image on watercolor paper and heat set it.  I painted the green base for the grass and added some brown in places for dirt showing through the grass.  I used a mini tip applicator to apply texture to the grass and to pull color up for sprigs along the grass border. I painted the images with a brush and reinkers and then sponged saffron around the sky background area. I wanted ribbon to match the picture so I pulled white taffeta across the saffron ink pad to color it. I assembled the card and attached the ribbon and heated it up to age and crinkle it.  The heat dulled the color of yellow a bit and then made the girls apron look too bright so I lightly sponged on Antique Linen over it to tone it down. I love the finished results.  My husband did too and came and took it right off my work table and got it ready to send to his elderly aunt for a speedy recovery greeting.

Have a great week.

  3. Hi Kittie!
What a beautiful card. Your work is always fantastic – but this one really takes the cake. I know why your DH liked it so much. I am sure his aunt will as well.
    Hugs, Candy
