Purse Inspired Pumpkin Riley

Check out my Stamp and Accessory Sale

The SCS Inspiration Challenge provided an interest site called Moyna and we were specifically to go to the handbag collection for our inspiration.  I loved this bright orange bag and instantly thought fall and pumpkins for my project.  As I searched through all my fall sets and images I ran across Pumpkin Riley and knew I had to use him. I think he is so darn cute.

KC Pumpkin Riley 2

I stamped the image on the main layer of watercolor paper and again on scrap paper.  I watercolored the images with reinker and water. I sponged a grassy area around the image of the main layer as well as pulling up grass sprigs with a mini tip applicator and then sponged on a light yellow to highlight. I cut out Riley and the small pumpkin and apple and popped it up over the scene for dimension.  I use rolled up glue dots rather than dimensionals on areas like the ears and pumpkin.  I created the simple frame using Nestabilities and attached it over the scene with mounting tape to add another element of dimension. I stamped and painted a few more extra leaves to cut out so I could pop them up on the outer part of the scene as well as the frame.  I think the leaves add so much interest to this simple project.

I hope you are enjoying a fun and relaxing holiday weekend. I hope to get in more fun stamping time today and tomorrow. I love three day weekends.
