The Clean and Simple Challenge (CAS) on SCS was to cut something out. CAS is not really my forte but I thought it would be fun to paint an image, cut it out and create a simple little scene layered over designer paper.
I stamped the Penny Johnson Fishing Bear image on both the watercolor paper and the designer paper. I painted the image with reinkers and a brush and cut out. I stamped and painted an additional head on scrap watercolor paper and popped on to to the original to add just a little extra dimension. I applied Mod Podge on the back of the image and attached over the image on the designer paper. The image stamped on the DP allowed the thin point of the fishing rod and fishing line to show since it would be too hard to cut out. I love the pop of color the dots and anchors add to scene and layered with red on the plain white cardstock base. This was a fun and fast project but I love the outcome. That bear’s face is so sweet. My husband asked me if I had ever seen a hooked fish with a smile on his face. Well…uh..no…..but it sure works on this card.
