I haven’t gotten to stamp much over the last couple of weeks. That darn job just gets in the way. I had some fun on Sunday creating this little scene using Stampavie Sarah Kay’s Andre’ Carrying the Watermelon and placing it on a clean and simple white background. I rarely stamp and watercolor on plain white cardstock as the colors never seem as vibrant to me as on watercolor paper so I was happily surprised at how bright this turned out to be.
I stamped the image on white cardstock and again on printer paper to create a mask. I created a deckled mask just a little smaller than the image layer so I could frame the scene with a clean white border. I watercolored the images with a brush and reinkers, masked the image and sponged on the ground and sky area. I thought the gingham was the perfect embellishment for this simple card and the sentiment was perfect for this happy pair.
Here’s a closer view. Isn’t he adorable with that big melon?
