I get so much pleasure and relaxation out of stamping. For me it is a great way to put my thoughts to something fun and creative and to relieve the stress of the work week. Here are my projects for this week.
The SCS Technique Lovers Challenge was to create a project based on a childhood memory. My fondest childhood memory is of our family going to Cape Hatteras, NC every summer. I stamped the light house and masked. I sponged in the sand, water and sky area and stamped the birds and added sand texture with a sand dune image found. Both images are found in the Kittie Kits Beach Master. I added sea foam by applying Liquid Appliqué and dabbing it with my finger before heating to prevent what I call the dreaded blobs. I used an olive marker to hand sketch the little sea oats. I lightly painted the lighthouse and finished my card with the red paper and gingham for contrast to all the aqua.
I created this sweet home project for the SCS Tuesday Teapot Challenge. I stamped the house, fence and tree images on watercolor paper, painted and cut out. I created a sky background with a sponge and cloud template on plain white cardstock. I created hedges along the fence and walk with a marker and added little red flowers to match the red of the roof and drapes. I mounted the roof and fence over the cloud layer with mounting tape and applied the trees in front of the fence. I love the white scalloped border on the red background and the red and white gingham.
I love creating scenes around sweet images. These Stampavie Tina Wenke images are so darling and I wanted them to be the main focus of the project. I stamped the images on a single layer of cardstock and masked. I sponged on the grass area and filled in the texture of grass and flower with the fern stamp from my Kittie Kits Outdoor Master. I painted the images, sponged in a little yellow to high light the sky area and then applied the ribbon.
Bunnies For Sale!! I stepped out of my scene box to create this fun card with the quilted background and flowers to enhance this basket full of bunnies. I painted the image and cut out. I created the quilt squares with a Nestabilities die and punched the flowers and greenery sprigs with punches. I love the faces on those floppy eared bunnies.
I love to create bouquets with flower images. This tulip image from the Rubbernecker Easter Collection is so sweet and called to me. I added color to the stamp with Regal Rose and Old Olive marker and stamped five of them on watercolor paper. I heat set the ink and colored in the images using a blender pen and two colors of green, Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint, and three colors of pink, Shell Pink, Regal Rose and Rose Red. I cut the flowers out and started applying them to the white oval to create a small bouquet. I love the contrast of the bright pink and green in front of the stark white background. I love the pink and green designer paper combination for the background and thought the perfect finishing touch was the green satin ribbon to carry on the green stems.

You are so terrific with your scenes, love your sea foam idea, love the dimension in the house card, the little critters are too cute and like your background squares to your bunny image, the bouquet is so pretty, great spring card!
OH, Kittie!! I love all your projects and your creative diversity, but I always have and will love your scenes best. What a bountiful offering you have for our eyes this week. Even tho’ I love your scenes, those bunnies in the basket on the quilted squares are the most adorable little critters and I love the way you used the fern punch to make the greenery 3D in the basket. I find myself thinking, HEY, I have those punches (your dotted red flowers are another darling touch). Thanks for inspiring the creative juices.
What beautiful cards Kittie! I love your scenic light house, your adorable town house with the fence, and your pretty Easter cards!
