I had a fun time stamping this weekend.  The challenges always seem to get my creative juices flowing even after a long hard work week and feeling like I have no mojo.

The monthly Dirty Dozen/Dirty Dozen Alumni design team was challenged to create a spring inspired card using birds and or bees. For my project I turned to a newly released Stampavie image by Tina Wenke called Mouse in Hammock.

KC Tina Wenke Mouse in Hammock

I stamped the image and painted using a watercolor brush and reinkers.  I lightly sponged the grass area with green and filled in using a mini fern stamp from my Kittie Kits Outdoor Master. I sponged pale yellow around the flowers and mouse to highlight.  I loved the color combination of blue, green and mustard.  The little touch of orange on the book just pops and I love the mustard gingham multi loop bow for the embellishment along with the double frame.

There is a brand new challenge on SCS called Queen for the Day and it was introduced by my fellow Rubbernecker Design Team member, Anne Ryan.  This week our chosen queen was Peggy aka marilynprestonn.  The challenge was to find a work in the queen’s gallery and use it to inspire a piece of our own.  Here is a link to Peggy’s card that inspired me.  Simple and fun.

KC Fish and Frog Tara's Frog

This is a fun and simple Rubbernecker froggy card with little ribbon knots with polka dots to match the  spots on Miss Frog and her pink cheeks and lips. She is one hot momma isn’t she.

My last project was for the Sunday Feather Stamper challenge.  This week Cathy Bomgardner aka Mutnik and my fellow Rubbernecker team mate was honored and what a treasure trove her gallery is.  Here is a link to Cathy’s card with  birds on a cloths line that inspired me.

KC Laundry Days 4

I used the same Rubbernecker clothes line image but created a backyard scene with clothes hanging on the line.  I stamped the clothes line, painted  and masked it to protect.  I sketched the tree image and sponged in the ground and tree top area.  I filled in the ground a leaves by using the mini fern stamp from my Kittie Kits Outdoor Master.  I stamped, painted and cut out all the clothes and popped up on the line for added dimension.  I thought the sentiment was perfect since I don’t love doing laundry.

I hope you have a great week and that you have time to get your fingers inky!

Your frog reminds me of a lamp I just purchased for my stamp room . . . so cute! And I love the laundry sentiment . . .something I’d love to do with mine . . . LOL!
