Believe in Magic

It is no secret that I love snowmen and snowy outdoor scenes. Put an evergreen or a naked winter tree with no leaves in the scene and I love it even more.  I recently saw and fell in love with a new set by Our Craft Lounge called Be Jolly and had to purchase it.  There are several wonderful images in the set and I had fun using almost all of them in my project.

KC Be Jolly

This is the happiest snowman I ever saw and the big tree adds so much to a winter scene.  The sweet little bird with the scarf around his neck and the snow covered birdhouse add another fun element.  My favorite accessory piece in the set is the crooked evergreen tree. I stamped and painted the tree and birdhouse on the main layer of the card and sponged clouds in the background.  I stamped the snowman on a second piece of watercolor paper, painted and cut it out leaving the ground area attached to pop up over the scene and attached it with mounting tape.  I painted and cut out little holly pieces for the birdhouse and the snowman’s hat as well as the  bird coming in for a landing on the branch. I painted white craft ink on the ground, tree limbs and birdhouse and embossed using white embossing powder.

I hope you have a good week.  Remember, it’s never too early to start making your Christmas cards!!
