I had a great time this weekend making Christmas cards with Rubbernecker images. All three projects were made with images I have had for a long time but have never used.
I had some trouble with this Santa Claus image. It was a comedy of errors as I tried to fix one problem only to create another. It’s a long story and a little boring but the final outcome was a Santa with cheeks and nose that are too red and liquid appliquéd that required being sponged with white craft ink. Don’t ask! Anyway, I had worked hard on this project and decided I would post it any way.
Painting this Elf Train image was lots of fun. Aren’t these guys the cutest? When I finished painting the image I cut it out so I could pop it up over the crimped snowy tree background. I think the train looks like it is rolling right off the card front.
This Pine Heart Wreath is a beautiful image to paint. I wanted to make the evergreen and holly look as real as possible. The wreath is so lovely that I thought it needed nothing but a simple bow for embellishment. I did add Stickles to the holly berries but it doesn’t show in the photo.
I hope you all have a great week getting your fingers a little inky.
Stamps: Rubbernecker Santa Claus , Elf Train, Pine Heart Wreath
All great but I really think that Elf Train is the cutest! tfs
I love your Santa card Kittie, I think that you did a great job coloring it. I also love your little elf train and yes, it does look like it’s rolling right off the front of the card. Great work!
love the train and the holly wreath, they are so adorable and beautifully colored. Love the Santa too, because it give me hope. When I see that coloring doesn’t always work out for people I concider fabulous at it, then I know that there is room for error and trial. Thanks!
Hi Kittie!
We’ve spoken by email before and you keep inspiring me.
I’m having a hard time getting good greens to match papers I have when I try to do the “Kittie” trees and greenery effect on the cards.
I love your combinations of red and green! I wonder if you could give me some help on ink colors and paper colors used? Thanks so much!
“Maggie”
great texture on santa’s beard, the train looks like it is coming right off the card, very cool, and such a pretty wreath!!
Beautiful, rich colors! It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
