The Splitcoaststampers Tuesday Color Challenge was fun with soft colors. The challenge was to use Blushing Bride, Baja Breeze and Cookie Crumb. Since I don’t have some of the new Stampin’ Up! colors I used a soft pink Prism cardstock, Baja Breeze and Kraft. I couldn’t resist trying a snowman scene with these pretty colors and used my new favorite snowman set Be Jolly from Our Craft Lounge.
I stamped the tree and snowman on kraft paper to cut out and paper piece. I used creamy caramel to lightly wash the kraft pieces to bring them a little more to life. The snow on the tree limbs and ground was painted with white craft ink and embossed with white embossing powder. I stamped the snowman again on pink cardstock for the scarf and hat trim and then again on watercolor paper. The snowman was shaded using the blue, cut out and then I paper pieced with all the little pieces- the kraft shaded hat, cane, and twig arms, pink hat trim and scarf and this finished up the snowman. I used a cloud template and ink blending sponge to create the cloudy sky background. I pieced the tree on the sky background and placed the snowman right behind the snowy ground area. I love the dimension. The little sentiment tag was punched with my SU oval punches and tied with linen thread. I thought it would look cute hanging from the tree. I can’t help myself. I just love snowman winter scenes.
