Pine and poinsettias both are traditionally used for Christmas decorating. Each holiday season my mother filled her flower shop to overflowing with poinsettias and pine wreaths, swags and garlands. I have fond memories of working with her in her shop during my holiday breaks from school. I have a pine and a poinsettia project to share with you today.
I created this card by stamping and masking several pine images on the base layer of the card with a pine branch stamp from Rubbernecker. I stamped several individual images to cut out and pop up over the base layer. I colored the images with a brush, reinker and water. I layered the individual branches over the base with rolled up glue dots to give dimension to the card. I love the simple sentiment for this traditional card.
I stamped the poinsettia image on watercolor paper for the base and again on scrap watercolor paper with versa and embossed with gold powder. I painted the both images with brushes, reinker and water and cut leaves from the second image to pop up over the base image to create dimension. I wanted the frame base to be gold to match the flower so I applied versa on all four sides of the frame and embossed with gold powder. I thought the metallic gold ribbon was the perfect embellishment for this project.
Check out my multi loop bow tutorial if you would like to see how I make my bows.
I hope you have a wonderful week.
