We can only dream about what Santa’s house looks like but I think I came close to creating a fairly perfect replica of what’s in my imagination using the newly released Mark’s Finest Papers Welcome Home set.
I stamped the image with black Versafine ink on watercolor paper. I watercolored the image with reinkers mixed with water and a brush. I added the snow to the trees using a small scruffy brush lightly dipped in white craft reinker and touched lightly to the images and then embossed with white embossing powder. I used a small brush to paint white craft ink to create snowflakes and also on the roof lines and over hangs and embossed. I then painted and embossed tiny little icicles hanging from the roof and windows as a finishing touch. The ground was applied by painting white craft ink with a larger brush and embossing. The background was sponged to create a light night sky. I made this project for the Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge and it had way more layers than I would ever normally use but I think it creates a nice effect.
