Today is the last day of 2010. It is so hard to believe how fast time moves as I have grown older. I have been enjoying being off work with my husband a few days this week and we will celebrate bringing in the New Year tonight at a party with several friends.
The Thursday Splitcoaststampers Ways to Use It challenge was to create a project with some form of silver on it. It could be anything from a silver staple to silver embossing. I have had a 100 yard bolt of white satin ribbon with silver trim since I had a part time floral/craft business twenty five years ago called Kittie’s Kreations. I instantly thought of this ribbon when I saw the challenge and set out to create a card using it. I decided to create one last winter moonlight snow scene for this holiday season using the little trees from Kittie Kits The Moose is Loose.
I stamped the trees with versa and embossed with silver embossing powder and heat set. I cut a mask for the ground using deckle scissors and punched a circle for the moon and then sponged in the sky and ground lines. I used a small sponge to add tree shadows in the moonlight. I added little lines of glitter on the scene and on the edge of the inner frame using Glossy Accents and Dazzling Diamond. I created the frame using Nestabilities and popped the completed scene up over the dotted embossed layer and attached the multi loop bow for embellishment.
Happy New Year!
