I have really been enjoying taking part in the Splitcoaststamper’s Clean and Simple challenge each week. This isn’t my best style of card because it really isn’t so easy to create a clean and simple card. I’ve copied and pasted the description listed on the challenge below.
What is CAS?
CAS is an acronym for Clean and Simple. Below is the reworded definition.
It's all about the design.
* not the technique
* not the tools
* not the embellishments
It's all about the design.
* Uncluttered
* lots of white or open space
* one main focal point
It's all about the design.
Clean & Simple
The CAS challenge yesterday was to create a project using soft aqua, soft yellow and white. I pulled out my Stampin’ Up! bird punch, a Martha Stewart border and flower punch. I created a spring trellis with soft flowers and foliage around a sweet embossed bird. The thing that makes this sweet spring scene come to life is that it is surrounded by all white and has no ribbons or other types of embellishments to distract from the main focal point.
I punched a trellis border and attached to the card front. I punched several yellow and aqua foliage stems and attached to the trellis. I popped the bird up over the foliage using a piece of mounting tape and then arranged the yellow and white flowers around the bird. I added gold stickles to the flower centers for a touch of sparkle. I love the soft and sweet texture of the bird and flowers layered on the all white background. The trellis adds another element of dimension without distracting from the main focus.
Have a great week. After experiencing terrible storms here in Florida last week we are no having gorgeous weather.

Awesome, love the bird, flowers and trellis. Thanks for sharing. Hugs n’ Stuff, Lynne
Very pretty spring card-love what you can do with the punches out there today.
This is stunning Kitty, even for a CAS card :).
Wow! Gorgeous card.
What a lovely card!
Love the way the flowers look like they are running on a fence and the Little Bird set down to enjoy the site. Beautiful.
This is SO Pretty! I love the trellis with all the beautiful flowers. And of course the blue bird is the crowning touch! The blue birds have arrived here and are now busy building nests in the many houses we have up for them. Spring is here!
Beautiful, love the bird on the trellis and the texture you gave to the bird and flowers, lovely arrangement!
Kitty,
Which MS Hydrangea punch did you use for the flowers? One punch has a set of 3 (1 large and 2 that look to be the same size), and another MS punch has a large one only.
I was wondering if you used just one of both of these punches.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful cards!
Lynette
Gorgeous! love it! TFS Kittie!
GASP!!! This is so breathtakingly BEAUTIFUL, Kittie! That hydrangea punch looks like a “must have.”
This is so sweet, Kittie!
Placing the bird amongst the flowers gives your card such a pretty look. Spectacular. Elegant. Great work!
