One Project for Two Challenges

Good morning.  I hope you had a great start to your week.  I enjoy playing in both  Splitcoaststampers  Technique Lovers and Clean and Simple challenges on Monday’s.  I was able to combine the two challenge into one fun project yesterday.  The TLC challenge was to stamp on a die cut piece while it is still in the die.  The CAS challenge was the Artist’s Rule of Three.  I recently got the Nestabilities Label Seven that looks like an open book.  I thought it would be perfect stamped with a script background and layered with a larger die to look like an open book.  I paired the book with three little paper punched flowers.  I think I have gone totally crazy making these little punched flowers but I can’t seem to help myself.  Check out my punched flower tutorial if you are interested in how I put them together.

 KC French Script

I stamped the Rubbernecker French Script image on vanilla die cut cardstock with antique linen ink and layered over brown cardstock.  The flowers were punched from embossed vanilla cardstock, layered into flowers and sponged lightly with the same ink to lightly age.  I punched several pine sprigs and sponged them as well to match the flowers.  I thought embossing half of the main card base was the perfect touch to go with the book.  The little flowers and pine just finished the piece perfectly.  I added clear stickles to the flower centers and the pine springs for a bit of sparkle.

Here’s a closer look.at the flowers.

  1. I love it!!! You’ve made me reconsider that particular Spellbinders die also. I skipped over it in my collecting… didn’t really think I cared for the book shape, but along with your project, I’ve seen some others that were pretty cool so I may just have to go back and pick this one up. That would be easier if they’d stop coming up with new ones that I want! LOL!!!
