Christmas In July

Hello everyone!  Happy Saturday morning. Today I am celebrating Christmas in July. I usually start in mid summer making Christmas cards and I couldn’t resist turning to one of the sweet Sarah Kay Christmas images by Stampavie called Noel Joy.

I stamped the image on watercolor paper, painted with reinkers and cut out.  I created a winter scene with evergreens and snow for the background.  I cut my frame  using oval Nestabilities and mounted over the scene with mounting tape.  I popped Noel up in front of the scene and created an evergreen spray at her feet with tiny red and white flowers. I just couldn’t resist adding a touch of stickles to the image and flowers for sparkle. It is hard to see but there is also some flower soft along the walk.

Here’s a couple other views.

You may be thinking that you have plenty of time to make Christmas cards before the holiday.  I find that times runs away with me a little faster every year.  While it’s nice and hot outside maybe you should cool down with some fun winter holiday projects.

  6. How nice to come home to see a beautiful card that makes me feel cool… thinking of December and winter! I was out today to a Rubber Stamp and Scrapbook Expo that they were crazy enough to hold in a building that had no airconditioning!! (NO… we didn’t know that until we had paid to get in!) Eeek! It was up in the high 90s here today with way more humidity than we normally have here in CO. So, while it was interesting to see papercrafting products from various companies it was definitely not an enjoyable situation because of the heat.
