White Dogwood Inspiration

The Splitcoaststampers Inspiration Challenge this week provided Maggie Austin Cake as our site of inspiration.  What a fantastic artist this lady is.  I was inspired by the gorgeous all white cake in the photo shown below.

I have really been enjoying with all white projects lately and am surprised by how beautifully elegant they can look.

I created a punched lattice border on both sides of my card front and mounted it to the base with mounting tape.  I punched several Martha Stewart  hydrangea flowers using all white cardstock and used a stylus and mouse pad to add body to the petals and needle noose pliers to curl the edge of the petals and some of the leaves. The foliage was cut using a Spellbinders Shapeabilities foliage die.  I attached the leaves to the card front using Glossy Accents and then arranged the flowers in between the leaves. I used 1/4โ€ punched flower that was curled around the tip of a stylus to fill the flower centers. I really love how this turned out.  I wish you could see this in real life as it is so much prettier than the photos show.  I had a hard time getting good shots and finally used a pale pink in the background for contrast.

Here are a couple of other views.
