Did you go play in any of the Splitcoaststampers DTGD challenges yesterday? If not you need to go and check them out. There is lots of fun going on over there. I have a couple projects to share with you today. One for yesterdays challenges and one for the challenge I’m hosting today.
I made this adorable birdhouse and covered the requirements of three challenges. Woo Hoo! Strike!
I painted the roof and the base of the birdhouse with Shabby Shutters Distress Crackle Paint and hurried up the drying process with my heat gun. I am so impatient. I painted the walls of the house with white acrylic paint…and yes….I heat dried it to. I attached two larger pieces of foliage to the birdhouse peg with Glossy Accents to act as a base for my punched pine and then layered on the branches over top of them. I created tiny little red paper flowers with my Fiskars 1/4’ flower punch and formed them on my mouse pad using the small end of a stylus. I attached them to the pine and finished it off with the tiny red bow. I followed Ann Fitzgerald’s Chickadee tutorial for my sweet little bird. I thought the rope holder on the top of the house needed a little decoration as well.
My second project is made for my DTGD11kittie747 challenge. I wish I could tell you exactly what my challenge is but you will just have to go over and see for yourself. If you aren’t a fan club member you need to check into becoming one because the DTGD week of challenges is for Fan Club members only.
I love making these floral sprays and especially with the punched and layered cornflowers. I was torn between making this all pink or using the white cornflowers but decided it needed a little bit of contrast. I do love all the foliage matching the base of the card. Here’s a couple other views.
I hope to have some really fune stuff to share with you tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by.
