Fall Wreath

Good Monday morning.  I hope you had a great weekend. I have a fun fall project to share with you today that has no stamping involved.  I have had lots of fun creating fall themed cards lately and decided to make another by  creating a wreath made with colorful punched oak leaves.

A while back I posted  floral wreath tutorial on my blog using punched paper foliage and tiny paper flowers.  Creating this leaf wreath followed the same exact steps. I die cut a  ring with Nestabilities to act as the base and a guide for my wreath.  I punched out several leaves in mustard, rust, olive and pumpkin and alternately attached them to the ring using Glossy Accents. I used a Cuttlebug folder to emboss an elegant pattern on the vanilla background and layered it over a mustard card base.  I attached the wreath to the base of the card and finished it off with a mustard bow.

You may think this was a time consuming project but it was really fast and easy.  You can create a wonderful Christmas wreath with a punched pine or holly foliage using the same technique.  Here is a couple other views.

  1. Beautiful! I used your directions to create a wreath with flowers and was quite pleased with my first attempt. I can vouch for the ease of creating it. This looks even easier because you don’t have to layer all those teeny weeny flowers. Thanks for the great inspiration.

  2. Hi Kittie,
I saw your Fall Wreath which you posted Sept 26, 2011 which used Martha Stewart’s oak leaf punch and really liked it but the instructions were not available on Your Pinterest Post or YouTube. Would you still have those instructions that you could email me. I have loved your designs for a long time!
    Many thanks,
    Deborah
