Birdhouse Fun

Happy Monday!  I have two birdhouse projects to share with you today.  One is a Christmas card made with coordinating designer paper and the other is a painted and decorated wood birdhouse.

A few weeks ago I purchased the K&C Company Merry Christmas designer paper pad and have enjoyed using it on several projects.  I love the pattern on the card base and thought it would look great with the sweet birdy and birdhouse made with coordinating papers.  The birdhouse is a template made my My Favorites Things and the bird is Stampin’ Up! Bird Punch.

My mother-in-law was here visiting for a few weeks over the Thanksgiving holiday and we enjoyed shopping a trip to Michaels one Sunday.  She loves birdhouses and purchased an unpainted one for $1.00. I asked her to leave it with me to let me decorate it and send it to her in the mail.  Here is what I came up with.

I painted the roof and base with Shabby Shutters crackle paint and I love how it crackles up and looks like it has been there for 100 years or so. You can see it more clearly on the close up photo.

I used a SU Sizzix  die, a My Favorite Things foliage die and Martha Stewart  punch to create the foliage.  The little flowers were made with the MS hydrangea punch and the little punched flowers that fall from the MS PATP flower border set that I have.

I attached all the foliage and flowers to the house with Glossy Accents.  I love that stuff.

I have gotten enthused about making this birdhouse and think I should start a collection for my mother-in law. Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.  I know she would love that.

Have a great week.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Accessories: My Favorite Things Birdhouse Template, SU Bird Punch, Martha Stewart Pine Branch Punch, Mounting Tape, Glossy Accents
