I had fun playing in the Splitcoaststampers Inspiration Challenge this week. The inspiration site was A Cool Breeze Fashionable Hand Fan. I was inspired by a beautiful black fan with a picket fence scene full of colorful flowers.
Here’s what I came up with.
I attached the window and shutters on the black base. I die cut several pieces of the grassy border and the picket fence. I attached two layers of grass border to the front of the fence and two layers on the back of the fence so it would be plenty full like the fan scene. I attached one grass borders high on the back of the fence to create higher sprigs and then attached the fence to the base..
I created several kinds of flowers with punches to resemble the flowers on the fan. I especially love the tiny little flowers made with the 1/8” circle punch. Here is a closer look. You can click on the photos to go to a larger view.
I attached a border of pine branch punched sprigs to soften and added tiny little flowers to finish. There is really lots going on in this card but I really like how it turned out. You can check out my punched flower tutorial and flower spray tutorial if you would like to see how I shape my flowers and arrange my flowers with foliage,
I hope you are enjoying your weekend. I sure am. Thanks for looking in today.
Ooop! I forgot to put the Grassland Border in my photo so I pasted it from Ellen’s site.

It’s GORGEOUS! I don’t know how you manage to handle those tiny flowers and place them so perfectly on your work. This is a delightful garden scene! Hugs, Lesley

Well, when you accept a challenge you certainly look at every detail, Kittie. You’ve outdone yourself again.
Amazing and gorgeous. I don’t have the shutters, but have everything else. I will just have to make me some shutters and try to do something as beautiful as yours. Thank you for the inspiration this great Sunday morning.
Wow Kittie – this has totally blown me away! It looks so real and that’s just seeing a photograph – it must be even more impressive IRL! Your handiwork creating these scenes is just incredible – LOVE IT! Totally inspired by your work – thank you!
Hugs, Danielle
Kittie, This card is amazing. I have been drooling over all your window cards and finally bought the window die on a trip to the US yesterday. I love the shutters too, but those will have to wait form my next trip. Thank you for the awesome inspiration!
Oh how I love Spring time and this makes me love it even more. I have to admit I try to copy your designs but I need a lot more practice. I haven’t been able to find a 1/8 inch punch yet. But I have done some flowers that were left from a MS punch and they turned out quite well. Hope you have a great Sunday and thanks for sharing your beautiful talent with us.
Oh, my… Most people, when making this type of card (with a window), has it reversed. I’s so glad to finally see one that is on the outside looking into the house. Thank you. Beautiful card!!
very pretty scene, I really love the long blades of grass, I may need to get one of those dies 🙂
This card is so adorable Kittie. When I saw it over on Splitcoast, I fell in love with it! It’s so over-the-top and so you!!!
