Color Washed Flowers and Foliage

The Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge this week was to use Vanilla, Blushing Bride and Wild Wasabi.

I decided to try my color wash technique on  both the flowers and foliage.  I was very pleased with how soft and pretty both the pink and green looked on the washed vanilla cardstock.

I wanted to create a soft background for the flowers and scalloped frame so I used the Belleek Inspired Technique using a brayer and embossing folder presented on Splitcoaststampers Technique Lovers Challenge. I think the ribbon pattern in the embossed background looks beautiful with the light pink highlight.

I die cut the eyelet frame and then die cut the center out to expose more of the background pattern.  I mounted the frame with mounting tape and arranged the foliage and flowers into floral sprays

I think this is so soft and pretty and would be perfect for so many occasions.  I hope your week is going well.  We are on the downhill slide to the weekend.

  1. Your colorwashed flowers are so pretty! The colors did turn out soft-looking and they do look good on the lacy emb bkgrd. Lovely card! 🙂

  2. Yummy! Adore the soft-washed colours, especially the embossed pink background. Almost reminds me of an old antique linen or something that has gone through the washing machine a few times :))
