Flower Box With Primula Blooms and Tutorial

Good Saturday morning. I have a fun project and tutorial to share with your today with the Poppy Stamps Grand Madison Window and matching Flower Box along with the Memory Box Primula Blooms flower die.

I thought these brightly colored flowers and foliage would look perfect against the white window and flower box and the Brick Embossed background.

I may have a new favorite flower. I love the stems and the full layered blossoms. I thought I would show you how I created the flower  added the colorful buds.

1.  Die cut a green flower and a pink flower.

2

2.  distress the back of the green flower and stems to add texture and dimension.

3

3.  Cut the top pink flower off the stem.

4

4.  Cut notches out of the two lower leaves of the green flower.

5

5.  Cut the matching pink leaf off.

6

6.  Add a touch of Glossy Accents  to the back of the green leaf.

7

7.  Attach the pink portion of the leaf to the underside of the green leaf.

8

8.  Prepare the flowers by distressing with a stylus on a mat or mouse pad.

9

9.  Attach a drop of Glossy Accents to the top green flower.

10

10.  Attach the largest pink flower to the green flower base and continue layering the flowers to form the full bloom. I am so thrilled to have the Lifestyle Crafts QuickStik. It makes picking up small flowers a breeze.

Hereโ€™s the finished flower. Isnโ€™t it sweet?

To create my little flower box garden I cut the stem from the leaves at the bottom.  I used the leaves to form the foliage base of the arrangement. I trimmed off some of the length of the flower stems and attached them to the base of the card and flower box with Glossy Accents

I recently found a new fern foliage punch by Punch Bunch and think it adds a nice fullness to the flower box garden. I attached the fern to the flower box with rolled up glue dots. I finished with a  few smaller flowers to fill in the arrangement.  I love how this turned out.

  4. Another beautiful creation. Thank you for a great tutorial. Do you have a recommendation of any particular papercrafting books that specifically teach how to make flower blooms with different punches and die cuts?

  5. Thank for the tutorial. This card is beautiful! I have the dies for the window and flower box. I will just have to use a different flower until I can buy the one you used. I think that I will also put some ‘wall paper’ behind the window opening. Thank you again for the inspiration. I absolutely love love love your cards.

  8. Wow, you just knock my socks off! This is gorgeous. I can see I will have to add the window and box dies to my wish list. Hmmm, mother’s day is next week-have to talk to my daughter! Just purchased the primula dies. Thanks so much for the inspiration for this die. I would never have thought to use it in this way. Have to keep telling myself-outside the box, outside the box. ๐Ÿ˜‰
