Victorian Sisters and Frame

Good Sunday morning! I am having a wonderful, restful weekend.  I hope you are as well.  I have a sweet project to share with you today.  I made it for the Splitcoaststampers Inspiration Challenge. The inspiration site was the Victorian Trading Company and I was inspired by Roses and Violette Photo Surround.

Here is what I came up with.

I stamped the Sisters image Rubbernecker Vintage on watercolor paper using Chocolate Brilliance,

Sisters 002

heat set and lightly watercolored the image with distress reinkers to look like the old fashioned sepia photos that were hand colored back in the day.

I used my new Spellbinders Floral Oval Die for the frame and Floral Flourishes, Martha Stewart Flower Punch and EK Success Rock Fern Punch to create the floral spray around the photo. I wanted the flowers to match the clothing and cheeks of the girls so I punched flowers using the vanilla cardstock and lightly sponged the edges of the petals. I formed them with a stylus and mat. I placed pearls in each flower center to bring one more Victorian touch to the frame.

Check out my frame tutorial if you would like to see step by step photos of how I create my mated frames.

Thanks for stopping in.

  2. Another work of art that defines the word *Sweet*. It would have been adorable with just the B&W image, but you took it one step further by adding the sepia tones which just cause these images to pop off the page. Love it !
