If not go here to check out all the benefits of being a member. If you are a member hop right on over the special challenge forum here.

My project is one I made for the challenge I am hosting  today. I will give you all the details of how I made my card but you will have to go over to my forum post to see what my challenge is.

I am sure it is no secret by now that I love playing with die cuts and these Impression Obsession dies among my favorites yet.

I die cut the house die and cut an inch or so off the bottom to create a one story house. I traced the roof line of the house die three times on white cardstock allowing the lines to be a little larger than the actual house and hand cut them out. I cut one roof section 1/4” shorter and one 1/2” shorter than the first so I could punch and layer them to appear like roofing tiles.  KC Impression Obsession Birdhouse 5 center

I used a 3/4” square punch to cut out the openings on the pink house layer.  I die cut the  windows, hand cut and attached little white drapes to the back of the windows and then attached them over the window openings on the house. I attached a piece of designer paper on the back side of the house window opening to appear as wall paper inside the house and then attached the house to the card base.  I hand cut tiny window flower boxes and attached under each window with mounting tape. I cut the tree from kraft paper and sponged on brown to color.  I applied lots of tiny green formed flower mound flowers to the tree for leaves and attached to the card base with glue dots and allowing it to overlap the house.  I die cut two sections of fence and attached to the house front with mounting tape and left one section open for a swinging gate. I created a garden of foliage and flowers along the fence line and carried them up to the flower boxes as well as adding a tiny door wreath.  My finishing touches were the clouds in the background and the and stamped and hand cut tire swing.   KC Impression Obsession Birdhouse 5 left

I love the pale pink house against the soft blue background. I would love to live here and this precious fairytale cottage. You can click on the photos to get a closer view.

Thanks for dropping by today. Don’t forget to DTGD challenge forum and take part in some of the fun challenges.

  1. Beautiful card, Kittie! I too think the pink house on the blue bkgrd looks grand. All of the details are tremendous. Thanks for reminding me that the DD challenges are this weekend. 🙂

    Bises.
