Serene Beach Scene

Good Wednesday morning.  I have been busy working on sample projects for the Splitcoaststampers Dare To Get Dirty event starting this Saturday. Are you familiar with this fun filled week of special challenges?  If not, you definitely need to come on over check it out.

Since I  worked on a special project last night that I can’t share just yet I decided to go back and pick one of my favorite earlier blog posts to share with you today. I posted this hand painted beach scene on May 16, 2009.

KC Ocean Scene

I created a mask using my largest square Nestabilities die. I wanted to have a plain border to frame and highlight around the scene. I sponged in the water and sand using a Color Box stylus and sponge tip. I hand painted the palm trees and grassy areas using Distress Ink reinkers and a small brush. I created the sky with a hand cut scalloped cloud template.  I added sea foam to the water’s edge by adding Liquid Appliqué,  dabbing lightly with my finger  and heating it. When I was finished I decided there was no need for an embellishment as it would only distract. I would love to be walking along this beach today.

Thanks for looking in and letting me revisit one of my favorite projects.  Have a great day.

  1. Very pretty. Love what you did with the water and beach. I’d have to use stamps for my trees as not artistic. Edna
