Sparkly Moonlight Snow Scene

Good Wednesday morning.  I have created  winter moonlight snow scenes several times using the trees from the Kittie Kits Moose set  and never tire of making them for fast and easy holiday cards. For this project I added another step and added sparkle over the tree using versa and iridescent ice embossing powder. The trees are very sparkly but once again it is hard to capture it in my photos.  The sparkle adds such a special touch with the contrast of the dark blue and pure white.

I will not go into all the steps for the main part of this scene as you can find everything you need to know in my Winter Moonlight Snow Scene tutorial. In my tutorial I used regular cardstock but I found using the glossy cardstock much easier to sponge and smooth out the ink for the sky and tree shadows. The ink glides across the glossy paper.

When I was totally finished with the scene I heat dried it to make sure all ink was dry.  I stamped over all the trees again using versa and then heat embossed using iridescent ice embossing powder.  I have a closer view so you can see the sparkle on the trees.

This is one of my all time favorite Christmas cards and I know I will make a few every year.  The three little trees in the set are my all time favorite evergreen trees.

I couldn't resisit trying another sparkly scene using a mix of plum ink along with the dark blue and this one is on regular cardstock. You can see that it isn't as easy to get the sky smooth but I still like it.

  1. You are so generous sharing your knowledge and taking all the guesswork out of an otherwise difficult experiment. At my age I think there’s nothing more for me to try, but that’s what keeps me coming to your blog every day. Thank you for many hours of pleasure and hope you and your family have a blessed Thanksgiving
