Easter Chicks and Blog Candy

Good Saturday morning.  I am having so much fun creating fun Easter scene cards like my project today.  This is similar to my pink and white Here Comes Peter Cottontail card I posted a few days ago.

KC Impression Obsession Egg Set 1 right

I started by creating a double matted frame with my square dies. I attached one layer of the grass border to the back of the frame before I applied the mounting tape. I wanted the grass to stand away from the card base a little for added dimension. I attached another grass border flat to the card base and then attached the frame over top of it. I cut the clouds and placed in the sky background to add another element of interest to the scene. I tucked the tree trunk in behind the grass border and attached to the base.

I love that egg set comes with all the little parts to not only cut eggs but also to create these darling little chicks. I assembled my chicks and attached them to the scene with mounting tape.  I cut several butterflies and tiny flowers and added to the scene to create one  more  element of soft details for a perfect finishing touch.

Today I am giving you an opportunity to win my blog candy gift.  I have 10 mini stamps from a retired Stampin’ Up! set called Small talk that was made in 2003 and was only available to demonstrators.  The images are 1.25” by 1.00” in size.  All you have to do to qualify for this gift is leave a comment telling me if there are any of my recent scene or floral projects that may be helpful to you if I recreated it in a step by step photo tutorial. You will have until 5:00 pm on Wednesday, Feb 27th to leave your comment.

I have done a LOT of CASING of your cards (of course I always give credit and a link…haha) You have also cost me a lot of money…had to buy many of those dies…haha I think you do an excellent job on describing how you create your cards so I don’t really have a card lately that you have done that I need a tutorial. Gosh though, would love the chance to win your blog candy.

  6. Today’s card is absolutely adorable! I love the layered look of your cards. I would love to see you make a video on how you assemble your layered cards; especially the double frame. If a video isn’t possible; could you post a tip on how to make a double frame but using only 1 set of frames (for those of us who only have the 1 set). Thanks.

  11. This card is SO CUTE! I love it! A tutorial on cards like the Chocolate Easter Bunny Basket would be helpful–or any that have multiple layers like that one. I love how you design beautiful cards with basically just paper and dies, no coloring required. I always look forward to your blog posts to see what you’ve come up with! Thank you!

You do quite a few wreaths and I would like to see how you put them together and keep the shape so well. I’d love some blog candy! Can’t we all use an extra few stamps?
Byd the way, does anyone know where I can get a personalized stamp for the back of my cards? (Like “Handmade just for you by Liz”

I would like to see more cards not requiring additional postage to send…also if you ever have ribbon/bow tying instructions for us “lefties” that would be helpful, mine just never look the same!

I love all your tutorials and they’re always very thorough. Would love to see some details on how you put together that pretty hydrangea card! Spectacular! Also would love tips on a glue, easy to apply, that dries clear that would be good for attaching small pieces like you do.

  33. Kittie, as always you amaze! You are an inspiration to all of us! I love your work, as we all do!!
I love your tutorials and you provide great detail when you describe your process. Sometimes I have a hard time envisioning the process. The hydrangea is a bit of a puzzle to me. I think my vote would be for a window or door card with hydrangeas…step by step with each piece cut out and shown with coloring steps.
Now you’re sorry you asked aren’t you??
Thanks so much for sharing your work and the tutorial offer. Love getting your emails each day!
