Framed Florida Orange Blossoms

Good Friday morning.  I hope you had a wonderful Fourth of July holiday.  My project today was made for the Splitcoaststampers Ways To Use It Challenge to use our own state flower on our card.  Although I was born and raised in West Virginia I have lived in Florida for 35 years so I felt it very appropriate to use the Orange Blossom on my card.  Here is a picture of my inspiration.

Here’s what I came up with.

I cut the white flowers and formed them using my molding pad and stylus from the accessory tool kit. I hand cut the tiny stamens and rolled them around the tip of tweezers to form them and attached to flower center using glossy accents.

I love using the Impression Obsession Square Shaker Frames.  I attached it to the 4.25” card front with mounting tape and cut a smaller square frame using my Spellbinders Classic Squares

I love how bright and cheery this small card is.

Thanks for coming by today and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.  I am going to get spoiled having four straight days off from work.  LOL!

  2. Mmmm orange blossom fragrance – they come to life with your flowers! I love the stamen tutorial too! I have really good friends from West Virginia (Morgantown) but they’ve all lived in California for 30 yrs or more. So I can ‘hear’ your accent, too 🙂

  3. This is so funny (not your card) but yesterday I saw a commercial on TV for orange juice. In it, they did a few seconds time-lapse of an orange blossom growing & the orange growing. The flower caught my eye & I thought, “That would be an easy & cute flower to make”……Today I open your Blog and what do I find????……….LOL…….Love it!
