Christmas Window Scene

Good Wednesday morning.  My project today was made using the new Impression Obsession Large Window with Box, Fir Tree Border, Pine Sprig Cluster, Bare Christmas Tree and Border Duo 1

I love the tiny trees on the fir tree border and thought they would make a great scene through the large window.  I cut the border three times, cut and layered them to create dimension and to appear off in the distance.  I think I sort of accomplished that.

I started by scoring lines on the card base to create the appearance of paneling.  Too bad you can’t really see them well in the photo.  I finished by attaching the designer paper to the lower portion.  Using the window die cut as a template I drew cutting lines on the card base and cut the opening with my craft knife.  Check out my see thru window tutorial if you would like to see step by step photos of how I create my window scenes. This window die cuts the two inner window panels out so you can use it with or without the panes.  I kept the panes in and secured them from the back to hold them in place.  I attached mounting tape on the back of the window and attached it over the opening.

I attached the snowy layered tree scene to the back of the window with ATG adhesive.  I created a sky background using my ink blending tool and a hand cut cloud template. I attached it to the inside of the card over the window opening with a double layer of mounting tape.  This added a tiny bit more dimension to the scene.

Here’s a close view of the pinecone and pine sprig spray.  I cut the bare Christmas tree and cut it apart and added the pieces to the spray to add a rustic country Christmas feel. I thought the simple red bow was the perfect finishing touch.

I am so happy you stopped by and I hope you have a great day.
