My project today was made using Cutout Christmas Tree, Window with Shutters and Border Duo 1.

I love the Cutout Christmas Tree with the fun flourish at the bottom. I thought it would be fun to create a clean and simple scene letting the tree be the main focus.  I couldn’t resist adding a simple open window.  Check out my open window tutorial if you would like to see how I make my windows scenes.

I cut the tree out in green and then using the negative of the tree as a template to draw the lines on red cardstock.  I cut out the red tree and attached it be hind the green to create the red ornaments. I placed a little yellow piece to show behind the star and added yellow stickles for twinkle.  I attached the tree to the base of the card with mounting tape.

Sweet!!!! I think the next item on my list needs to be a crimper! I love the way you crimp curtains, and trees, etc! This is a beautiful card!

  3. I collect windows and doors of all kinds–stamps, images, take my own photos of them–and this card caught my eye, of course, because of the window. I love how this window die will allow the card maker to create a scene outside for all seasons and occasions. Thanks for sharing your project and for the opportunity to win!

  6. Good Morning, Kittie, love the simplicity of this card. Gives you many opening for sentiments and images through the window or one added to the front……have a good day.

  7. Kitte, love the tree, now more to add to my wish list. Have the windows and the border dies but need that tree. So addicted to your site, thanks for all of your inspirations.

  8. This is a really unique way of using that border die. Love it on the window die. The tree is very pretty, and that is a good tip for doing a background for it.
