Good Saturday morning. Splitcoaststampers holds an annual month long challenge each October called “Hope You Can Cling To” that coincides with Breast Cancer Awareness month. I am excited to be today’s host and my challenge is titled “Scene of Serenity”. The challenge is to create a scene project using either stamped images, die cut images, hand sketched images, hand painted images or any combination. Adding any shade of pink to the scene would be an extra bonus.
I love butterflies. They are a symbol of hope and new life. Here are few photos that inspired my project.
Here’s what I came up with. I created a white on white outdoor scene with a large tree, a tire swing hanging from the branches and an uneven ground layer with grass and foliage. The scene represents a place I would love to be. I added the touch of pink with all the beautiful pink butterflies. The all white scenery allowed the butterflies to be the main focus and the expression of hope.
This is a large card 8.5” x 5.5”. I attached the tree to the card base with mounting tape and rolled glue dots. I hand cut the ground layer using deckle scissors and applied adhesive across the back to attach the grass borders. I attached the grass border layer to the card base mounting tape to create dimension. I cut several leafy branch sections, cut them into smaller sections and tucked them in behind the ground layer and attached with glossy accents.
I attached all the pink butterflies to the scene with glossy accents for the finishing touch. I love how this turned out. As simple as it is I think it would be beautiful matted in pink to match the butterflies and framed.

You may want to hop over to Splitcoaststampers and check out all the challenges. I would for you to come come play along in mine. Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful and relaxing Saturday.

LOVELY white w/pink card! Beautifully crafted scene, Kittie! 🙂
This is absolutely gorgeous, you certainly nailed the challenge. The butterflies just pop off the page but because of the shade of pink you used they don’t distract from the white but better still enhance it. You are just so talented and give so much inspiration!
Your card is exceptional, just beautiful. I look forward every day to your blog and love nearly everything you create.
Stunning, as always! I love getting your emails to see your latest creation. Thank you so much.
Serene, yes. And VERY, VERY beautiful! You amaze me, Kittie. 🙂
Kittie, this is just beautiful…. I love the colors… it reminds me of cotton candy. Again, your sensational creativity has shown thru…. and again, another die I’m gonna have to buy….lol. Thank you for sharing your creativity
Good Morning, Kittie I just love the simplicity and the design, and I think your idea
of the pink matting, and frame would be super. Especially, in a young girls room. or
on a desk. Just gorgeous. I like your thinking and sharing that process with us. …have a good week-end…hugs
OMGosh, what a beautiful scene. I can just feel the crispness in the air.
