Over The House Tops

Good Monday morning.  I have a fun tag to share with you today made using the Impression Obsession Santa and Fir Trees paired with a precious village scene from the Pink Paislee Snow Village pad and using the Inkssentials Tag for the base.

The tag is about 1/4” wider than the designer paper so I cut a small section, matched up the houses and attached together to make it long enough to cover the tag.  You can see it if you look closely on the left side.

1

I cut a strip of white cardstock with my deckle scissors, crimped with my wave crimper and attached it to the tag with mounting tape.

2

I cut  several fir trees and crimped with my straight crimper to add dimension.

3

I applied small pieces of mounting tape to the back of the trees and tucked them in behind the snow layer.

4

I cut the Santa and reindeer and applied color using distress inks and a Sofft mini applicator. I also used a fired brick and a peeled paint marker to apply a darker shade of green and red to the sleigh and Santa. It is hard to see in the photos but I applied versa to the sleigh runners and reins with a versa marker and embossed with gold embossing powder.

5

I attached small pieces of mounting tape to the back of the sleigh and the first two sets of reindeer and attached them to the tag.  I allowed the front set of reindeer to be free and pop off the edge of the tag so they would appear to be going up, up and away.  Smile

I love the sweet village paper and thought it would be a perfect background for Santa.  I think this is so fun.

  8. Kittie, this tag is amazing, it makes me smile! I struggle to use printed paper, so this is a very inspiring technique for me. I buy the printed paper because it is so beautiful and then I mostly use my plain cardstock. This project has given me the creative inspiration I need. Thank you for sharing this beautiful tag and the excellent tutorial.
