Alder Tree, Kitty Cats and Butterflies

Good Monday morning.  My project today was made using the new Memory Box Grand Alder Tree and Small Alder Tree paired with the Memory Box Butterfly Delights, Puffy Clouds and Flower Mound as well as the Impression Obsession Cat Set, Grass Border and Small Grass Border.

I cut the puffy clouds and attached them in the sky area with mounting tape. I cut the alder trees using white cardstock and colored them with Copic Markers.  I attached the small tree over top of the larger tree with mounting tape to create dimension and depth.  I applied thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the larger tree and attached it to the card base and cloudsI cut and attached both grass borders and attached them directly to each other with ATG adhesive and then attached them to the card base with mounting tape.

I cut both cats using white cardstock and colored one with my black soot Distress Marker  and the other with my mini applicator and vintage photo Distress ink.  I touched the ears and tail with a dark brown Copic marker.  I cut the butterflies and tiny flowers in three different colors to bring more life to the scene.  Here’s a side view to show the dimension of the two trees attached together.

I love making cards with tree scenes and adding flowers and butterflies.  I could use just one more cat jumping up after a butterfly.  I might have to ask Mitra the own of Impression Obsession if she will make one in her next release. Smile

  2. Another beautiful scene. Love how you color your kitties, just like your real ones.
Love how you always add butterflies too, but then I also love butterflies and they truly do add a nice touch to the cards.

  4. good morning, Kittie. I sure love how you did the dimension of the tree. I could feel the breeze through the trees. Lovely scene with clouds, flowers, and of course cats. A beautiful spring card……have a good day.

  5. Kittie, this card is beautiful. Of course I love the butterflies and the tiny flowers. I think we need to contact Memory Box and ask for a tiny flower die, since they seem to have discontinued Flower Mound, that die was on the top of my list and now I don’t know if my local stores will be able to get it. I need to get hold of Memory Box. The kitties are very cute and I can imagine them frolicking after the butterflies, but of course they can’t catch them. Thank you for this beautiful, colourful, inspiring card. It brightened my day.

  6. I have told this story before and want to share it with you. In my tender and innocent years there were sugar eggs with scenes in them consisting of green grass, flowers, chicks, butterflies, and rabbits etc. I would gaze into the egg forever. I always wanted to get into the scene because I felt it was magical. That is the same happy feeling I have about this card. TFS and the memories.
